Training & Services
These are the core of what Profile Services offers. If it's not on the list, ask us if it's something that we can take on.
GD&T Tolerance Stacks - Course
Automation of analyses can be time saving, but how do you know if your analysis is being done appropriately? How do you know what the results mean, and don't mean? Many CAD software packages have automatic Tolerance Stack-Up analysis tools, but what is your confidence in them? By understanding how a tolerance stackup is conducted, you will have a solid basis for believing, or not, the automated analysis results.
Mechanical Design Skills - Workshop
There is more to mechanical engineering design than creating CAD models and releasing engineering drawings to the shop. New designers, in particular, have little knowledge or experience in selecting drawing layouts, identifying feature terminologies, determining feature functionalities, tolerance determinations, material selection, surface finishes, and more.
Frankly, the list of things to know is too long to teach in one course, but this workshop combines introduction and practice on these elements and more.
GD&T Users Group
GD&T skillset development is a process. A New User may have taken an introductory GD&T course. Over time, that New User may receive the exposure and support needed to become a Key User in their work group. With increased and supported exposure to GD&T application in new situations, the Key User can become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in GD&T. From there, supported involvement in the development of the GD&T standard, consulting and instructing in a broad variety applications, can establish the SME as a GD&T Guru.
Much like the apprenticeship in the trades, GD&T specialization requires the structured support and validation of a group of experts in the field.
Intellectual Property - Development, Review & Documentation Services
Intellectual Property services can include development of new products or ideas, prototype design, patent development and sometimes patent review or defense. Few small to medium enterprises have all the resources needed, and many large corporations use outside IP support.
